2nd Annual

call for scores

**The chaos caused by the COVID-19 pandemic is affecting people around the world, including artists of all kinds. We have extended our deadline and waved our submission fee, hoping to ease some of this chaos in our own small way. See updated guidelines below.**

5th Wave Collective is a Chicago-based classical music ensemble dedicated to the performance and promotion of music by womxn composers. Bringing together a diverse group of musicians, we advance our mission by including performers of all genders who support our cause. We seek to celebrate the legacy of womxn composers before us, and create a platform for those to come.

Guidelines are below. Click here to submit your proposal. Thank you!

All womxn, non-binary, and transgender composers are welcome to submit works.

EXTENDED to April 8th, 2020

The composer who receives "1st Prize" will have their work rehearsed, recorded (audio and video), and premiered on May 29, 2020, at 5th Wave Collective’s season finale concert. Recordings will be distributed by February 2021. Composers who opt to attend the performance and need any supporting documentation to secure funding will receive such documentation in a timely manner.

Please note: we are closely monitoring government recommendations regarding public events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If the May 29 concert must be postponed, we will provide social media shout-outs for the winning composers and will perform the winning work at the rescheduled concert date.
