About the event

5th Wave Collective members Anatolia Evarkiou-Kaku (flutes), Carmen Abelson (violin), and Rebecca McDaniel (percussion) will host a virtual workshop for high school students at The People's Music School. The trio will share a video performance of Ruby Fulton's the girl who cried pain: a theme & variations, which Ruby wrote for Anatolia just this year. The trio will also discuss entrepreneurship in music and the process of commissioning new work, and lead Q&A with the students.

This event is closed to the public.

Creation of "the girl who cried pain" is partially supported by a Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Individual Artists Program grant, and by a grant from the Idaho Commission on the Arts.
